The Calabria IGT Petelia of Ceraudo is a white wine made with 50% of Greco Bianco grapes and with 50% of Bianco Mantonico grapes grown with organic methods. It is a genuine white wine, whose name Petelia comes from the name of Strongoli used by the ancient Greeks; it shows a beautiful brilliant straw yellow color with golden reflections. Its aroma is fruity with hints of ripe fruit, toasted hazelnut and honey, slightly sweet and spicy on the finish. The taste is soft, round, well balanced and persistent. Wine of great personality and slightly savoury in the finish, the Petelia of Ceraudo winery is perfect to drink with appetizers, fish courses and preparations based on vegetables.
The Azienda Agricola Ceraudo, that is one of the most important wineries in Calabria region, was founded by Roberto Ceraudo in 1973, who bought the estate belonged first to the princes Campitello and Pignatello and later to the barons Giunti, planting the first vineyards. The Ceraudo winery has about twenty hectares of vineyards, which are located in the area surrounding Strongoli Marina, a short walk from the sea. Currently the company is carried out by Roberto Ceraudo together with his sons Giuseppe, Susy and Caterina; they follow the same choice in full respect of the environment and biodiversity, without use of chemicals. All wines are produced in certified organic regime and the cellar is energy self-sufficient thanks to the use of photovoltaic panels.
