Spumante "For England" Pas Dosé Alta Langa Docg Contratto 2013

The “For England” Pas Dosè of Contratto is an elegant and fine sparkling wine, produced esclusively with Pinot Nero grapes. It shows a great golden color, with amber reflexes and a fine and persistent perlage. The sense of smell is intense, floral and fruited, with green apple and white flower notes on background of yeast and bread crust. With a good freshness and acidity, equilibrated and persistent taste, it’s perfect if drunk fresh as aperitif or if combined with platters based on fish, fresh or medium seasoned cheeses, white and soft meats.

The Contratto winery  was founded by Giuseppe Contratto in 1867. The winery is known like the oldest wine producer of sparkling wines in Italy . The winery has a long and prestigious history : it exported wines all over the world , mainly in real families and also it was also the Vatican personal supplier. It received, with the passage of time, various awards and medals and has always been synonymous of prestige and quality in the world of sparkling wines . Today the Contract winery is conducted by Giorgio Rivetti of Spinetta winery: he and his team want support the quality of Contratto’s wines, proud to bring back this winery to the old glory This winery was declared a Unesco Human Heritage sit.
